Ashok was born in the year 1963 in a SANATAN Hindu Brahmin humble farmer family of village Narhan Kalan in Chandauli district of Uttar Pradesh (India). He had his basic education in village schools. He qualified "Integrated Rural Scholarship Examination" in the year 1977 organized by Uttar Pradesh Government meant for hunting talents from villages and impart them better education in selected Government schools. With that scholarship, he moved to Government Queens Inter College of Holi city Varanasi for further studies. Ashok did his Ph.D. from the Institute of Medical Sciences of Banaras Hindu University. After finishing his Research Associateship awarded by CSIR-New Delhi, in Banaras Hindu University, he joined CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Technology Hyderabad as QRS-Fellow in the year 1998. Dr. Tiwari was later appointed as Scientist E-I in CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Technology Hyderabad in the year 2001. Presently he is Chief Scientist in Centre for Natural Products & Traditional Knowledge. Dr. Tiwari is also a Professor of Biological Sciences in the Academy of Scientific & Innovative Research (AcSIR), a university promoted by CSIR and created through the act of parliament.
He has made substantial contributions in the field of metabolic disorders and has highlighted the importance & relevance of traditional Indian medicine and practices in combating these disorders. His research findings have massively been covered in several print & electronic media.
