Dr. A. V. Sesha Sainath is a polymer science and technology scientist. He is presently a Senior Principal Scientist at Fluoro-Agrochemicals & Polymers Department, CSIR-IICT, Hyderabad, India.
Dr. Sainath has over twenty six years of experience in polymer basic research and process / product R&D, both, in industry and academia. He obtained M. Sc. (Polymer Science) degree in 1992 and Ph.D. (Polymer Science) degree (Mentors: (LATE) Prof. A. Kameswara Rao, SKU, Anantapur, A. P. and Dr. A. V. Rami Reddy, CSIR-CSMCRI, Bhavnagar, Gujarat) in 1998 from Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Anantapur, A. P., India. After about two year stay as a Research Associate (Mentor: Dr. Swaminathan Sivaram) at CSIR-NCL, Pune, Maharashtra, he joined the Venture Business Laboratory of Yamagata University, Japan for his further postdoctoral research (Supervisors: Prof. Kiyohito Koyama and Prof. Junji Kido). While working there he obtained JST-CREST invitation (Supervisor: Prof. Tomokazu Iyoda) from Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan. After two years he moved to M/s Mitsui Chemicals Inc., R & D, Japan (Supervisor: Dr. Terunori Fujita), from there he moved to CSIR-IICT, Hyderabad, India in 2009 as a seniour scientist.
Five Ph.D. students have been already awarded Ph.D. degrees under his guidance/supervision and 3 more Ph.D. students are working for their Ph.D. degree. Additionally, he has already trained 17 dissertation students of M.Sc., M.Tech. and B.Tech and one CSIR RTF-DCS Fellow from Eastern University faculty, Sri Lanka. He has authored over 124 articles in peer-reviewed international and national journals and proceedings of international/national conferences. He also has 7 patents to his credit.
