Dr. Pratyay Basak

Dr. Pratyay Basak has followed up on his dual Masters Degree in ‘Chemistry’ (University of Roorkee) and ‘Materials Technology’ (Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University) with a doctoral study at Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT), Hyderabad. Subsequently, he took up postdoctoral positions at School of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, Georgia Institute of Technology (GaTech), Atlanta and thereafter at the Environmental Energy Technologies Division, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL), Berkeley. The award of Ramanujan Fellowship and Fast Track Scheme for Young Scientists by DST, facilitated his return to India when he joined CSIR-IICT, Hyderabad in February, 2009 as a Ramanujan Fellow. Appointed in 2011, he is presently serving the CSIR-IICT as a Principal scientist with active participation in several ongoing national and international research initiatives on sustainable energy conversion, storage and delivery.
