Dr. Sunkara V. Manorama

Dr. Manorama V Sunkara, Chief  Scientist, CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Technology, Hyderabad.

She has profile expertise in design and development of hierarchical nanostructured materials for application in sensors, photocatalysis, photovoltaics, magnetic & biomedical relevance like  DNA recognition, cancer therapy etc., fabrication of prototype devices & in-situ performance characteristics. She has rich knowledge of methodologies in controlling the synthesis routes, surface engineering of oxide materials by tailoring the phase and morphology to obtain efficient visible light active photocatalytic materials for the degradation of organic pollutants. She has >123 publications in peer reviewed journals, 4 Patents, 4 Book Chapters, 2 popular articles, >85 invited lectures and plenary talks. She has/is supervising >6 PDRAs, >14 PhDs, >15 masters and >10 undergraduates during her career. She has 5622 citations with h-index of 41 and i-10 index of 70. She serves as co-ordinator for AcSIR Advanced Functional Materials course, reviewer for several high impact factor journals and funding agencies. She was awarded Commonwealth (1989-90) and JSPS Invitation (2002) fellowship. She is a recipient of Prof. Rudolph A. Marcus Award (2016), Australian Leadership award (2010), CSIR Best Woman Scientist Award (2005,2008) etc.
