Dr. Vineet Aniya is working as a Scientist-C in CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (CSIR-IICT), Hyderabad since 2016. He did his B.E (2012) in Chemical Engineering from Govt. Ujjain Engineering College, Ujjain and thereafter joined CSIR-IICT as Trainee Scientist (2012-2016). During this tenure, he completed his M.Tech.(2014) in Process Engineering Sciences (Chemical Engineering) and was awarded Ph.D. (2019) in the area of Enhanced separation technologies from the Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR), Hyderabad.
Dr. Aniya’s research contributions are in the area of process/ industrial engineering and development of sustainable technologies from waste for harnessing energy (supercapacitors) and bio-based materials (bioplastic) that aims to resolve some critical societal problems related to the environment. His focused basic research is in the area of process modeling and simulations of the chemical process, thermodynamic properties estimation and thermochemical conversions of biowaste for circular bio-economy. Presently he has authored 21 research articles, 1 book chapter with a total 158 citations with an h-index of 9 (Google Scholar). He has also guided 6 M.Tech. and 10 B.Tech. students.
Dr. Aniya's early carrier applied research contributions were in the form of process equipment design and scale-up through process simulator and preparation of Basic Design Reports for the in-house developed products like Lily Aldehyde, para methoxyacetophenone, para methoxyphenyl acetic acid, para-tertiary butyl methyl benzoate and para-tertiary butyl toluene. One of such noteworthy project received “CSIR Technology Award for Physical Sciences including Engineering for the year 2018 for Technology Transfer of Commercial Plants of 4000 MT per year of para-tert-butyltoluene (PTBT) and 3000 MT per year of para-tert-butylbenzoic acid (PTBBA) awarded by Dr. Harsha Vardhan, Hon'ble Minister for Science and Technology on the occasion of CSIR foundation day function at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi.
The recent contributions in the area of process engineering are in the development of process for the preparation of dibromomethane through thermal bromination of monobromomethane; vapor phase alkylation of catechol to guaiacol, optimization of process parameters for the conversion of refrigerant 1,1-Difluoroethane to 1-Chloro-1,1-difluoroethane through photo catalytic process and preparation of furfural alcohol and furoic acid from furfural. Dr. Vineet is the recipient of the IIChE Awards for the Year 2015: Ambuja’s Young Researcher’s Awards and has been elected as an Associate Member in The Institution of Engineers (India) and Life Associate Member of Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers (IICHE)
