Dr. V. Ramalingam born on 20th May 1988 in Sundarapandiam, Virudhunagar District, Tamil Nadu. After he was completed his schooling at Kalaimagal Higher Secondary School in 2003, he pursued his Batchelor's degree in Science (Genetics) at Ayya Nadar Janaki Ammal College, Sivakasi in 2008. Then he moved to Chennai for his Master's degree in Marine Science at Madras Christian College and he completed his Master of Philosophy in Marine Science at Bharathidasan University in 2011. During his Ph.D. (2012-2016), he expertise in isolation and characterization of marine natural products and its therapeutic applications including antimicrobial, antibiofilm, antioxidant, and anticancer activity. After having a one-year postdoctoral experience at the University of Cincinnati (2016-17) in the field of cancer biology, he moved to Jeonbuk National University at the Republic of Korea (2018-2020) where he expertise in cancer biology and cell differentiation. After having laudable research experiences in biomedical applications of natural products, he joined the CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Technology on 9th May 2020 as a Scientist. His main research interest is isolation and structure elucidation of novel marine bioactive compounds as anticancer and antitubercular agents.
